About Us
Ryan and Colleen were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to move back onto the family property in 2016. Right away they started setting up shop, installing fences and shelters that were milled and built from scratch. Ryan has truly built some amazing things so far. 2019 being one of his busiest, putting in a 55' x 55' round pen and 100' x 200' outdoor arena among all the other things that pop up on a property. They both work hard and enjoy spending time building their dream.
Coach and Trainer
Hello! I am Colleen Ware, resident Coach and Trainer at Strathcona Acres. Here is a little about me,

I have had the pleasure of working with horses my whole life. I knew very early on that horses were my passion and I wanted them to be my career as well.
My first certification was as a CanTRa AI when working at a therapeutic Riding Facility. I was one of the first applicants at the time who was awarded certification in a mock exam. Very soon after I took my Instructors certification with Equestrian Canada and within my first year of coaching I was nominated for “Coach of the year”. Since, I have added to my accreditation's; EC competition Coach, Rider Level Evaluator 1-8, Rookie Rider Training, Explorations EFW and currently working towards my jumper judge and my EC Competition Coach Specialist. I will always continue to seek education and try to be the best I can be for my students and of course the horses.
As a Rider I have ridden many different disciplines and participate in both Dressage, Hunter, Jumper clinics and shows. I use techniques from all over, I believe in finding the best technique for both horse and rider.
My students vary when it comes to levels and ambitions, I teach casual to competitive riders. The fantastic thing is they all love horse's just like me.
I have a wonderful sense of humor, or at least I think so.. It tends to come out in my teaching. But riding should be fun! We learn more being open and relaxed. So if you want to hear someone laugh at their own jokes and learn about horses at the same time, contact me, And we will book a lesson.
